Introduction
The following terms and conditions are based specifically on
the management plans we have in place to make our Events run smoothly and
safely for everyone.
Participation
You agree to keep your 'Participants Details' held on our
entry system up-to-date with your Telephone Number an Emergency Contact Name, Telephone
number and email address.
Our Event take place on well-marked tracks and paths which
include rough terrain and climbs, and which can be subject to harsh weather
conditions and as such recommend Participants use suitable trail running
footwear.
You agree that you are fit and well, physically capable of
taking part in the Event and are solely responsible for your actions. Mellor
Lacrosse Club is not responsible for any injury or illness that you may suffer
because of your participation.
Our Event take place on public rights of way and rely on the
support of locals and volunteers, and the hard work of our volunteers for their
success. You agree you will be polite and courteous at all times, including in
any correspondence before or after an event, and follow instructions given by
marshals or crew. You also agree to park safely and considerately in
public car parks or, only where it is safe and legal to do so, on public roads. Please respect our neighbours!
Important Parking Note to Participants - Longhurst Lane,
Mellor (near to the entrance to Mellor Sports Club) has double white lines in
the centre of the road which amongst other things means parking is not
permitted where double white lines are present.
Any Participant found to be behaving in an inappropriate way
will have their entry cancelled or be disqualified without refund and may be
prevented from entering future events.
You agree to follow the Facebook Community
Standards when interacting with other competitors on any Mellor
Lacrosse Club Facebook page or group.
Participants are not permitted to run with dogs. Participants are not permitted to run with non-participants
i.e. not an official Participant registered with our entry system. Non-participants will be removed from the
course route for safety and insurance reasons during the event.
Race Entry
The event entry fee is individual to you, non-refundable and
non-transferrable except at our discretion in the limited circumstances
outlined below. Participants using someone else's number can have serious
consequences in the event of a medical emergency. The accuracy of the race
results is also affected when Participants are placed in the wrong age or
gender category. Any Participant using someone else's number will be
disqualified.
Third Party Events
For safety and insurance reasons, we do not work with third
party events, and will not accept entries for use in third party events. We exercise our right to refuse entries on
this basis, and should you make an entry for a third-party event, you will not
be listed on our start list and will not be refunded your entry fee for that
event.
By registering for an Event, you confirm that you have read
and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Prizes
Prizes are awarded to first placed male and first place
female.
Limit of Liability
By participating in this 10k trail run, I acknowledge and
accept the inherent risks of trail running, most notably (but not limited to)
slips, trips and falls, which may result in injury.
I have read and understood the race guide and will follow the
advice given therein. In addition, I
will follow the advice given by the course marshals. By entering the race, I waive my legal right to make a claim for
damages against the event organisers and/or against Mellor Lacrosse club, its directors,
officers, agents or its members.
To the extent permissible under UK laws, in no event shall
the race organisers, Mellor Lacrosse Club, its directors, officers, agents or members
be liable (jointly or severally) to you for personal injury or any special,
incidental, indirect or consequential damages of any kind, or any damages
whatsoever.
